The undergraduate degree in Multimedia is anchored on an interdisciplinary and contemporary approach. Bringing together several areas, it includes art, technology, communication and culture, as well as music, theatre, cinema and AV, in a distinctive and innovative communication platform, which will enable students to produce, convey and transmit content from different applications, platforms and media. Students are expected to develop specific technical, artistic and conceptual skills by exploring and experimenting with innovative forms of communication, through the use of new interaction technologies. The main intervention areas are animation and 3D modeling, virtual and augmented reality, digital arts, interactive installations, web platforms, videogames, multimedia technologies, graphic animation and video mapping, creative programing, digital sound, multimedia production and direction in general

3D ModellingThe program has as fundamental objectives the introduction to 3D modeling tools and the understanding of the different modes and techniques for the volumetric representation of three-dimensional scenes. Art and Contemporary Culture The general objectives are for the student to: get to know a wide range of contextual, authorial and material references, which constitute the corpus of Culture; be able to use a set of tools for and interpretation of the constitutive phenomenology of Culture; acquire and use a lexicon (articulated), rigorous, adequate / specific, for a self-referenced critical discourse, about your own production and that of your peers; has the ability to investigate, question and question photographic, cinematographic, design and multimedia production, and cultural production phenomena. Animation II The program has as fundamental objective the introduction to the animation processes in 3D environment, approaching essential points necessary for the planning and execution of animations of objects and three-dimensional scenes, as well as techniques to improve the dynamism and realism of the movement. Explore the particular characteristics and the versatility of multimedia and interaction in it’s whole, through the production of projects in languages, programs and multiple and specific supports – for example, visuals, sound, verbal, deterministic algorithms, interactive, mobile devices, haptic, sensors and non-haptic controllers. Post-Production General Skills: This subject aims to develop technical and creative skills in the area of video and sound editing and post-production, without neglecting the theoretical and historical contextualization of the various languages and audiovisual genres. The student must acquire comprehensive professional skills in the area of graphic animation and editing with real image and sound.
Specific Skills: The student will be able to: Use different image and sound editing and post-production software. These skills include organizing work, understanding digital formats, combining tools, image processing, special effects and building narratives; Understand the audiovisual language and know how to apply it to the editing workflow: rules of visual and sound continuity, cutting rules, narrative coherence, dramatic rhythms, choreography and visual composition, etc.
